Exploding into the Australian music scene via television screens in 2015, a young Michaela Baranov stole the hearts of millions as a contestant on X-Factor Australia’s seventh season. Mentored by Dannii Minogue, the judges and Australia alike saw potential in Baranov who was sadly eliminated from the competition as the 7th runner up. It didn’t end there for the natural-born talent; unlike many others coming off a reality TV series, Baranov had that special something that kept her firm on the path she was destined for.
As a taste of what was to come, Baranov travelled around the globe performing as a solo entertainer at world class venues including House of Blues (Los Angeles), Tammany Hall (New York), Circus Bar (Ios, Greek Islands) and the Waldorf Astoria (Dubai) and was soon picked up along the way by Flight Facilities for their highly esteemed 2016 World Tour. With stars in her eyes and the world literally at her feet, Baranov cut her teeth in international touring as the front-woman for one of the world’s most esteemed electronic acts and from there her hunger and passion to perform to a global audience only grew stronger.
Fast forward to 2019 and Baranov, under the new moniker ‘The Baroness’, has yet again added international touring artist to the resume as Peking Duk’s touring vocalist. Headlining festivals and stadium shows around the world, Baranov hit Australian television screens once more performing to millions in the most sought after gig of the year as 2018 State of Origin’s half time performance with the Duks.
The Baroness has since included ARIA charting songwriter and vocalist into the fold with her 2019 release ‘Ocean’ – Beth Yen ft The Baroness which stayed at #1 on the ARIA Club Chart for 3 weeks.
